The article discusses the challenges and progress in fire department cooperation within the port of Antwerp, with the creation of the Seaport-Scheldt Fire Network (BZS). This network aims for a more efficient organization through cooperation between public fire departments and company fire brigades of chemical companies. Specialization by zone, joint training and sharing of resources are central, while new risks such as hydrogen networks and battery farms are addressed. Digital intervention plans and clear division of tasks improve incident response. The network increases safety and optimizes firefighter assistance in this industrial and logistical environment.
