The Seaport-Scheldt Fire Network (BZS) is a public-private partnership that unites public and private fire departments in the port of Antwerp-Bruges. The network, with members such as BASF, Covestro and TotalEnergies, shares knowledge and resources to respond effectively to complex and long-term incidents. TotalEnergies' naphtha tank leak was the first time the BZS came into action, highlighting the power of cooperation between competitors. The network focuses on innovation and efficiency to protect economy and ecology. Coordinator Ben Windey emphasizes that the joint deployment of people and resources significantly strengthens security and clout in the port area.
